These courses will not be recognized through distance mode – UGC

UGC has passed an order prohibiting the admissions in the Hotel management, Culinary studies, and real estate courses through distance mode. Furthermore, UGC had stated that the study of professional courses like medicine, engineering, and architecture is not possible through distance mode. Later, the commission also disallowed admissions in Agriculture too.

The commission has also decided to extend the admission in its latest meeting.

On the basis of negotiations with various regulatory bodies, these courses will not be recognized through distance mode from the academic year 2019-20. However, there is no problem for students already pursuing these courses as recognition will be given them.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided that from the new session, Agriculture will not be taught through distance mode.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notice stating that in the session starting in July 2019 Agriculture will be banned from the open distance learning UGC has appealed students as well as Open Universities to take note of it.
